3 Signs it is Time to Set New Goals

One of the greatest fallacies many people make is not setting goals beyond their immediate future.  Even long term goals very rarely have the next steps thought out, or the new direction plotted out.  When people hit these dead-ends, they start to stagnate.  Stagnation is a death wish for the enterprising individual, it is the death cry of ambition.

The best way to ensure you aren’t stagnating is to ensure you always have new goals and that your horizons are never reached.  The second you stop thinking that there is more to do, you’ve started stagnating.

5 Ways to Keep Moving

Aim Up

Always keep a new goal in mind.  You’ll realize you’re stagnating if you believe that you have achieved everything possible along whatever course you’re on.  The concept of an end is an illusion, remember to move through that illusion and innovate when all other paths seem closed.

You’ll also realize that you’re stagnating when things seem ho-hum all the time.  You should feel energized by your life, your life should seem intrinsically rewarding.  Your goals should wake you up every morning with a vigor to excel, when things seem grey, its time to change.

Too Comfortable

I believe that we are not meant to live too safely.  If you don’t feel that you are pushing some comfort zone in your world, you’re falling behind.  Remember, muscles need to be torn to grow stronger, the mind needs to be challenged to expand.  Your career needs to be pushed to excel.

Remember, non-action is an illusion.  Non-action is to fall behind.  Others are always moving.  Balance comfort with a drive to excel and you’ll succeed beyond your wildest dreams.
